hamos
Many plastic mixtures cannot be separated using conventional separation methods - such as density separation or optical sorting - or can only be separated to a limited extent or in an ecologically and economically inefficient manner. This is due to the fact that the mixtures often consist of materials with a similar specific weight, the same colour and the same mechanical behaviour.
An alternative are hamos EKS electrostatic plastic separators. These systems separate plastic mixtures into unmixed fractions and work dry and independent of specific weight and colour.
Application examples for electrostatic plastic separators
A typical area of application for the hamos EKS is the recycling of PVC windows. To ensure that the PVC from window profiles, profile sections or old windows can be reused, it is essential that all non-PVC materials are completely separated before processing. The rubber and soft PVC sealing lips inserted or extruded into the profile, which seal the sash and frame as well as the glass pane, pose particular problems during reuse. The electrostatic separator removes the plastic impurities from the PVC window regrind fully automatically.
Not only production waste and profile cuttings from the manufacture of windows can be processed and separated, but also old windows, old doors, roller shutter armour and similar materials. The PVC produced is characterised by very high purity and easily meets the high quality standards of materials for new PVC plastic windows.
With hamos EKS electrostatic separators, more than 50 different mixtures such as ABS/PS (electronic scrap), PET/PVC (drinks bottles), PP/PE (packaging) or ABS/PMMA (car tail lights) have been separated into unmixed fractions.
In industrial applications, the plastic separator combines low separation costs with high separation performance. Due to the high added value created by recovering valuable materials from previously inseparable mixtures and, above all, the better prices achieved for clean products, electrostatic separation systems pay for themselves in a very short time.
