hamos FFS
Electronic metal separators from the hamos FFS series detect and remove metal particles from bulk materials that are transported in suction and pressure conveying systems. Metal detection and separation takes place ‘on the fly’ at conveying speeds of up to over 30 m/s. Depending on the type of conveying (pressure or suction conveying, continuous or intermittent), specially adapted separation mechanisms are used. The conveying pressure in the system is maintained throughout the entire metal separation process.
In addition to ferrous metals, hamos FFS separators recognise and remove all non-ferrous metals. Products, machines and tools are thus protected safely, reliably and cost-effectively against damage caused by metal contamination.
The product to be demetallised is pneumatically conveyed through a metal detection coil. If a metal particle is detected, the separator diverter in the metal separator opens. The product flow is briefly diverted and the metal falls into the separator container together with a small amount of product.
In all air-supported, pneumatic conveying processes, both the flow speed in the conveying line and the system overpressure or underpressure in the metal separator and the conveying line remain virtually constant. This means that product conveying is not interrupted during the separation process.
In hamos FFS-L series devices for use in discontinuously operating small vacuum conveying systems, the contaminated material is discharged at the end of a conveying cycle via an elastic valve flap.
In hamos FFS-P series devices for continuously operating vacuum or pressure conveying systems, an interruption of the conveying flow during the separation process is prevented by a double sluice consisting of two shut-off valves connected in series.
For example, if you
in pneumatic conveyor systems, the hamos FFS is the ideal device for detecting and separating
of metal parts.
