Electronic all-metal separators from the hamos LCS (‘Last Chance Separator’) series are used specifically in plastics processing for slow-moving or ‘stationary’ material columns. They offer the last chance to detect harmful metal parts and remove them fully automatically before they disappear in the inlet of extruders or injection moulding machines. Not only ferrous metals are detected, but also all non-ferrous metals such as aluminium, copper, brass, stainless steels, etc. Damage to moulds and extruder screws or blockages in the hot runner system are thus reliably prevented. The stable and heavy-duty housing of the hamos LCS metal separators can also be used for mounting mixers, dryers and small conveyors.
hamos LCS electronic all-metal separators are designed for separating metal from stationary or slow-moving
Suitable for material columns.
The slowly moving column of material passes through the sensor area of the hamos LCS. Ferrous or non-ferrous metal parts contained in the material are detected in the search coil.
The search coil/sensor unit, together with the metal parts, is pushed into the eject position by a pneumatic cylinder.
Metallic impurities are discharged to the side together with a small amount of good material. A sluice plate blocks the material feed for this time. Due to the very fast material ejection, extruders can also be monitored without them ‘running empty’.
After the metal is ejected, the emptied sensor unit returns to its initial position and releases the material flow again.
For example, if you
injection moulding or extrusion, the hamos LCS electronic metal separator is the ideal solution.
