Recycling solutions

Electrostatic separators solve tricky recycling tasks

Efficient separation and maximum added value

Electrostatic separators are versatile and are characterised by high separation performance and low separation costs. As this dry separation technology works independently of the colour, specific weight or grain shape of the ground material, mixtures that are difficult or impossible to separate using conventional separation processes can also be separated. There are therefore numerous applications in recycling where only electrostatic separation currently leads to sufficiently good recyclate qualities.

Electrostatic separation - advantages and areas of application

These advantages are particularly evident in electrostatic plastic-plastic separation. Here, for example, electrostatic separation makes it possible to separate even completely black plastic mixtures into unmixed individual fractions. In this way, electronic waste, toner cartridges and many other plastic mixtures can be cleanly separated. Other plastics of the same colour or colourless plastics (such as PET and PVC) or plastics with a similar specific weight (e.g. PE and PP) can also be successfully separated in this way.

In the field of metal separation, electrostatic metal separators impress with their particularly efficient separation of non-ferrous metals. These separators separate even the finest non-ferrous metals in the range < 0.01 mm from plastic or other non-conductor mixtures, thereby maximising metal yield and enabling metal-free plastics.
