Electronic All-Metal Separators for vacuum or pressure pneumatic conveying lines

FFS Series Electronic All-Metal Separators remove metallic particles from bulk materials conveyed by vacuum (FFS-L series) or pressure systems (FFS-P series).

The metal detection and separation takes place "in flight" at material speeds up to 30 m/sec.

The metal particles which possibly are hidden in the product, are detected "in flight" by the hamos FFS all-metal separators and fully automatically separated.

Operating principle:

The product to be demetallised is fed pneumatically through the metal search coil.

If a metal particle is registered, the ejection flap in the metal separator opens.

The product stream is deflected shortly and the metal part falls into the separators container, together with a small amount of product .

By the use of a metal separator with a specially designed ejection mechanism, both the flow rate and the system pressure remain almost constant in the pneumatic conveying systems during the metal separating process . Due to that the feed stream and the conveying of the product is not interrupted.

The FFS series all-metal separators are available for horizontal or vertical air conveying lines. In addition, an installation with change of direction (corner mounted) is also possible - if necessary.

At units FFS-L series (for intermittent operating vacuum conveyor plants) the discharge of the contaminated material is made at the end of a conveying cycle by a flexible valve flap.

At units FFS-P series (for continuously operating vacuum or pressure conveyor plants) an interruption of the air stream is prevented with the material separating process by a double air-lock, formed by two consecutively switched stop valves.
