IFS-T Series
Electronic All-Metal Detectors in divisible execution
IFS-T series inductive all-metal search coils (tunnel detectors) with rectangular
opening are used for the detection of all ferrous and non-ferrous metals on belt
conveyors, vibration feeders, material chutes etc. They protect valuable cutting mills, crushers etc. or serve as a quality control system for metal detection in the finished product.
The search coils are divisible.
They are installed e.g. within the conveyor frameworks above and below the conveyor belt.
You process or recycle:
- Plastics
- Post-consumer household plastic waste ("DSD")
- Recycling products
- Wood, wood chips and chip boards
- Coal and rock
- Building materials, gravel, earth and cement
- Feed and lots more
...and use belts or similar for conveying?
With IFS-T series inductive all-metal detectors you can easily detect ferrous and non-ferrous metals.
Metal search coils IFS-T series detect all types of metal, i.e. iron, but even stainless steel, aluminium, copper etc. can be detected in the product.
Metal search coils protect thereby processing machines like cutting mills, crushers, shredders, granulators and protect the product quality by detecting metallic particles in a packaging station for example.
For applications in the foodstuffs sector or with particularly high sensitivity demands, we recommend the IFS-H type with closed search coil.
Operating principle:
Metal search coils IFS-T consist of a detector coil (transmitter and receiver) with electronics.
Metals, contained in the product, change the high frequency electromagnetic field inside the detector coil. This field change (energy shift) is converted into a switching impulse by highly sensitive evaluation electronics. When metal is detected, for example the belt conveyor is stopped or reversed. Acoustic and/or optical signals facilitate the monitoring.
The metal separation can be manually or automatically.
Your advantages:
- Economic protection of cutting machines
- Self-monitoring function
- Compensation of product effects
- Belt stop or belt reversion function (optional)
- Unpicking of the belt is not necessarily
- Very good price-performance relation
Details:
Search coils IFS-T series are available with standard dimensions. We can offer search widths of up to 2,000 mm and search heights up to 1,000 mm, both in steps of 100 mm. Custom-made coils, built with special dimensions, can be supplied at short notice.
The coil dimensions depend on the width of the conveyor belt and the product height. The dimension of the coil width must be at least 220 mm more wide than the conveyor belt.
For the calculation of the "right" coil height please calculate at least 50 mm underneath the conveyor and above the product.
Please contact our experienced sales team to find the suitable coil for your application.
When installing the IFS-T:
Assembly
Metal search coils IFS-T series are pre-mounted and can be fastened easily e.g. at the
framework of a conveyor. The conveyor belt has not to be cut for assembly. Exact assembling
instructions will be sent with each unit. If you need the data for your construction, these
instructions can also be sent upon request.
Metal-free area
For the achievement of the specified sensitivity the metal search coils must be installed with
a metal-free zone at the coil inlet and outlet.
Belt guide/side guidance
Within the coil area the guide plate for the conveyor belt and the side guidance must be made
of non-metallic material (plastic or wood).
Sensitivity
The detection sensitivity of the coil depends on the gap height of the coil. The smaller the
coil opening, the higher the sensitivity of the detector. The width of the search coil has
practically almost no influence. But also the type of metal is an important factor for the
achievable sensitivity.
